INFORMATION FOR LEVEL 4 DIPLOMA STUDENTS

For continuing students, Units 4 through 6 Classes begin on Saturday February 5th. The classes will run from 9:30 to 4 pm. Please click on the links below for more information and registration.

For new students, Unit 2 classes begin on Saturday March 5th. Unit 2 is the gateway into the program and must be completed first. The Unit 1 class will take place on April 16th. Please click on the links below for more information and registration.

Home study is offered on all Units. Please refer to each Unit below for Home Study pricing and exam dates.

All Diploma Students should get hold of and read "Viticulture," by Stephen Skelton MW (available through www.lulu.com or Amazon) and "Understanding Wine Technology," by David Bird MW (available through Amazon).


You should also have a copy of the Oxford Companion to Wine and the Sothebys Encyclopedia of Wine.

 

In addition, I highly recommend that you procure a copy of a new book called "Wine Myths and Reality" by Benjamin Lewin MW.


Below are the links to each of the Units for the Diploma, and the associated assessments.  The registration of each unit gives you 1 free exam try.  If you take these via class format it takes 2- 3 years to complete the Diploma Program once the Unit Exams have been successfully passed.


Unit 1 (The business of Wine & Spirits):  Assessed by a Case Study exam and one out of class 2500 word paper. Units 1 and 2 are registered together and please click HERE for more information and registration.


Unit 2 (Viticulture & Winemaking): 100 question, 90 minute multiple choice exam. Unit 2 is the first course and exam for new students. Please click HERE for more information and registration.


Unit 3 (Light Wines of the World): an all day tasting and theory exam. Please click HERE for more information and registration.
